Darrin’s interest in physical therapy
began in 1987 following a sports related injury that required
rehabilitation. After receiving his Bachelors of Science
in Sports Medicine and his athletic training certification
from Pepperdine University he pursued and received his Masters
in Physical Therapy from U-Mass Lowell in 1993 and eventually
his Doctorate of PT from Lowell as well. Darrin enjoys learning
and continues to pursue his education having also received
a Credential in Spinal Mechanics and Diagnostics from the
International Mckenzie Spinal Institute in 1999. He also
holds a certification in Strength and Conditioning from the
National Strength and Conditioning Association. Darrin has
worked at both the high school and college level in the athletic
medicine departments as well as trained and rehabbed professional
and former professional athletes in various different sports
and activities. Prior to coming to North Carolina Darrin
owned and operated Balanced Health, Inc. for 13 years. When
he is not working Darrin, his wife Brenda and their three
sons and one daughter enjoy all aspects of the beach. They
also spend too many hours weekly to count at some field,
court, rink or dance studio enjoying all the joys of youth
sports and activities. You will find his energy, empathy
and quest for knowledge encouraging and motivating.
