| Kira
Porter Boyd, Clinic Director
MSPT, ATC, CSCS
Kira is a North Carolina licensed Physical Therapist, NATA
Certified Athletic Trainer and NSCA Certified Strength and
Conditioning Specialist. She received her undergraduate degree
from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her
graduate degree in Physical Therapy from The University of
Miami. Kira joined the staff of Peak Performance in April,
2002. Prior to that, Kira spent several years working at an
orthopedic physical therapy practice in New York City. She
has extensive experience in the prevention, evaluation and
treatment of athletic injuries at the Division I collegiate
level. She was involved with athletic training coverage of
various varsity sports at North Carolina and worked with the
top-ranked Hurricanes Football team while attending the University
of Miami. Kira has accumulated a wealth of knowledge through
continuing education courses and additional training including:
Pilates based rehabilitation techniques; the Maitland manual
therapy approach; the McKenzie method for spinal dysfunction;
Plyometrics and sports specific rehabilitation. Kira's outside
interests include travel, scuba diving, weight training and
salt water fishing. She is also an avid North Carolina basketball
and Miami football fan.

Lisa McIntosh, PT Lisa is a North
Carolina licensed Physical Therapist. She received her Bachelor's
degree from Appalachian State University in Physical Education
and later earned her undergraduate Physical Therapy degree
from the Medical University of South Carolina. Lisa has been
a licensed physical therapist since 1991. She has practiced
in South Carolina, Illinois, Alabama, and North Carolina.
Prior to moving to North Carolina she was also a licensed
personal trainer in Alabama. A tremendous motivator, she has
training in numerous areas of Physical Therapy, but her primary
interest is in orthopedics. Lisa has brought her high energy
level and creativity to our Peak Performance team just this
year. She is a devoted wife and mother, and enjoys a variety
of waters-sports, outdoor activities, cooking and gardening.

Leigh
Biggers, DPT, CSCS Leigh Biggers
received her undergraduate degree in Sport Management from
Clemson University in 2001. She went on to earn her Doctor
of Physical Therapy degree from Duke University in 2005. Leigh
is also an NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.
Leigh joined the Peak Performance staff in 2005 and brings
extensive hands-on orthopedic and sports injury rehabilitation
experience. Combined with her dedication and enthusiasm, Leigh’s
education and experience makes her an excellent addition to
the Peak Performance staff. Leigh enjoys running, basketball,
tennis, being on the water and supporting Clemson Football
and Duke Basketball.

Ryan
Head, ATC
Ryan earned his bachelor’s degree
at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in Athletic
Training in 2003. After completing his training at Chapel
Hill, he worked for Don Joy as a service representative in
central North Carolina. After a year of working for Don Joy,
he joined the staff at Peak Performance in September of 2004.
He is interested in becoming involved in local high school
sports and as well as all aspects of performance enhancement
for athletes. In his spare time, he enjoys going to the gym
and is an avid golfer. |

Melba
Roelofs, ATC
Melba is a certified and licensed athletic trainer.
She received her bachelor’s degree in health and physical
education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro
and her master’s degree in sports administration from
East Carolina University. Melba received her training for
athletic training through a pilot program by the North Carolina
Department of Public Instruction to place certified athletic
trainers in every high school and was certified in 1982. After
34 years of teaching, coaching and athletic training at Lejeune
High School, she retired in June, 2005 and joined Peak Performance
as an athletic trainer. Melba also serves as the athletic
trainer at Dixon High School. She enjoys fishing, golf, hiking,
cooking and just enjoying their mountain cabin with their
husband.

Heather Salmons – PT Technician
Heather comes to Peak Performance with extensive
clinic and administrative medical experience in addition to
a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science. Heather
combines her academic training, medical experience and a caring,
warm personality to provide Peak Performance patients with
an enjoyable and effective rehabilitation experience.

Emily
Atkinson – PT Technician
Emily earned a Bachelor of Science degree
from the University of South Carolina in Exercise Science
and has previous experience as a swimming instructor and Assistant
pre-school teacher. Her enthusiasm, warm personality and dedication
to patient success will help every patient achieve their rehabilitation
goals.

Meredith
Croom, Administrative Staff
Well versed in all Front Office support functions,
Meredith will quickly and efficiently help patients through
the insurance process and schedule appointments. Ms. Croom
is a graduate of Meredith College where she earned a B.A.
in Business Administration with Human Resource concentration.
When not providing our patients with outstanding service,
Meredith enjoys snow boarding and attending car shows.

Mary
Chavez, Administrative Staff
With
over 20 years of experience in office management and medical
office services, Ms. Chavez is well seasoned in providing
outstanding support to Peak Performance patients. Besides
her excellent experience, Mary brings a warm and caring personality
to each patient she meets. Mary enjoys her time with her dogs,
antiquing, gardening, fly fishing and walking to stay fit.
