Peak Performance Sports and Physical Therapy has 2 conveniently located clinics in Jacksonville, NC.

Our original clinic is just off Gum Branch Road (a block away from Jacksonville High School). The second is on Richlands Hwy. (between Yopp and Haywood Roads, near Tractor Supply Company). Open since 2004, our Jacksonville clinic has quickly established a reputation for competence, compassion and results among many of the leading physicians in the Jacksonville area. We are staffed by experienced therapists and technicians skilled in using top industry rehabilitation equipment and in the application of both standard therapy treatment and advanced sports injury recovery techniques.

Andy Klatt is the Clinic Director and Lead Physical Therapist. Mr. Klatt brings an excellent reputation for quality care and expertise in general orthopedic and musculoskeletal care, sports medicine and post surgical rehabilitation.

Peak Performance Jacksonville South is our newest clinic located to serve the growing demands in Jacksonville and Richlands. Darrin Madole is the Clinic Director at the Jacksonville South clinic. He is an experienced physical therapist with 14 years of physical therapy experience across a broad range of skills and techniques.

The successful treatment of sports injuries will always be a keystone of Peak Performance Sports & Physical Therapy. Our current physical therapists are also Certified Athletic Trainers and are well versed in the latest sports injury treatments. In addition, our staff is dedicated to training athletes of all ages and disciplines in injury prevention techniques. By working closely with your physician, our staff will help you return back to your favorite sport in top condition.

Andy Klatt,
MPT Clinic Director

After graduating from Appalachian State University with a B.S. in Exercise Science, Andy earned a Masters degree in Physical Therapy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His career has been focused in the outpatient orthopedic setting with continuing education in manual therapy, spinal disorders, Kinesio Taping, Strain-Counterstrain, Total Motion Release, and wound care. His research topic while at UNC was "The Effects of Training on Reliability of Pelvic Landmark Palpation Using a Pelvic Model". When not dedicating himself to the wellbeing of patients,

Andy enjoys salt water fishing, travel, sports, and boating with his wife and two children.

Alicia Gurgul,
Jacksonville Clinic Operations Manager

Alicia relocated to Eastern North Carolina in 2006, from Atlanta, GA, where she was employed with Resurgens Orthopedics. Alicia was born and raised in Sayreville, NJ and attended college at East Stroudsburg Univ. of PA, California Univ. of PA, and has received her certification in Neuromuscular Therapy from the Academy of Somatic Healing Arts in 2003. She taught Hydrotherapy and Adjunctive Modalities for 3 years after receiving her certification. Alicia has many years of both management and clinical experience and enjoys seeing the patients at Peak Performance succeed everyday. Recently, she obtained her Personal Trainers Certification through National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), and is currently enrolled in Lean Six Sigma.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family, friends and leads an active lifestyle including soccer, Taekwondo, paddle boarding, kayaking, travelling, and learning to Kite Board when winds and weather permit.

Deena Stern, DPT

Sports medicine, post surgical rehabilitation, spinal pain, and Woman’s Health Issues are areas of interest for Deena. Her treatment styles have been influenced by many continuing education classes: Myofascial Release, McKenzie Treatment, Maitland Mobilization, Muscle Energy Techniques, Incontinence Training and Pelvic Pain. In addition to working in Outpatient Physical Therapy, she has experience in: Pulmonary Rehabilitation, Inpatient Neurological Rehabilitation, Inpatient Orthopedic Rehabilitation and Home Health.

Originally from Portland, she made Cedar Point her home in 2001, with her husband Andrew and 2 daughters.

Dennis Neil, DPT

Timothy earned his Associate in Applied Science as a Physical Therapist Assistant from Arapahoe Community College in 2009. He joined the staff at Peak Performance in February 2008 as a PT Technician. Prior to becoming employed at Peak, he faithfully served in his country for 7.5 years in the United States Navy as a hospital corpsman. He received his formal training in the practice of physical therapy while stationed at Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune.

He enjoys spending time with his family, playing basketball, making people smile, and traveling.
In 1983, Dennis completed the Bachelors of Health Science in Physical Therapy at the University of Missouri-Columbia. He then practiced Physical Therapy in both acute care settings and outpatient settings in Missouri and Florida. After completing graduate studies in Exercise science from Florida State University, Dennis practiced as a Physical Therapist and Managed a wellness/Physical Therapy outpatient center in Panama City, Fl. During this time he became interested in the sport of Triathlon and found a special interest in prevention and treatment of runners, swimmers, and cyclists.

Dennis received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of South Alabama in 2009. Other certifications include Neuro-Developmental Technique, and Strength and conditioning. Prior to moving to this area, he initiated and developed Physical Therapy Services in a Level 1 Trauma Emergency Dept.

He is married, and has 3 daughters. Dennis interests include road races and triathlons.
